Refudiate??

Sarah Palin decided she is Shakespeare.... in retrospect that is, of course. Yesterday, she tweeted the below:

"Ground Zero mosque supporters: doesn't it stab you in the heart, as it does ours throughout the heartland? Peaceful Muslims, pls refudiate"

Refudi...what? So, of course, she receives a couple of hints that the above may not be erm..... English. So, she tries again. After all, it is important to be clear on important issues.....

"Peaceful New Yorkers, pls refute the Ground Zero mosque plan if you believe catastrophic pain caused @ Twin Towers site is too raw, too real"

Right, "refute", which, needless to say, does not mean reject, what she was apparently trying for. Never the first to quit, Sarah tries again:

"Peace-seeking Muslims, pls understand, Ground Zero mosque is UNNECESSARY provocation; it stabs hearts. Pls reject it in interest of healing."

Can we have a round of applause, please? Of course, the mosque is not even going to be placed on Ground Zero, but a couple of blocks away and this is nothing but cheap publicity-seeking, but let's not allow that to spoil our fun.

Then Sarah decides to clear up the misconception that she is having a lot of trouble with her English by tweeting the following:

"Refudiate", "misunderestimate", "wee-wee'd up". English is a living language. Shakespeare liked to coin new words too. Got to celebrate it!

Which got the Reduced Shakespeare Company to tweet that indeed, Shakespeare was also not educated. I would like to suggest a new verb 'to palin', meaning to butcher the English language before claiming intellectual superiority.
